OCEES Seawater District Cooling (SDC) systems provide significant cost and energy savings to the end consumer in tropical settings. This process is not limited only to the tropical ocean but can, and is, being applied to temporal locations with access to chill water temperatures from local water resources (i.e., large glacial lakes). These air conditioning systems can save up to 95% of the energy generally required for air conditioning by replacing electrical chillers and cooling towers with the OCEES SDC system.
